I leave my OEM laptop charger plugged into the laptop most of the time, and this solves that issue. And the laptop will occasionally use a percent or 2 of the battery during periods of high load. Due to this you'll get a popup in Windows. One other thing about this dock is that the included power supply is not as powerful as the one that comes with the laptop. However the dock advertises up to 3x monitors 60hz, so I think it might be the laptop. I don't know if this is the fault of the dock or of the laptop. I have tried many different ways of connecting and configuring this, and could not make it work without sacrificing resolution or refresh rate on at least one of the monitors. You cannot hook up both monitors directly to the HDMI ports for some reason. Here's the dock I bought: (Anker Apex 12-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Dock) I just did the exact same setup with my new XPS 15 9510. Not sure if my advice applies to previous generations. Note: I'm assuming you're getting an 11th-gen Intel XPS 17. ![]()
